"The Aphorisms of the Dharma," one of the oldest Buddhist texts, belonging to the Theravada tradition, where important principles of Buddhist thought are developed. These principles are shared by all different Buddhist schools, from the Theravada, prevailing in South-east Asia to the Vajrayana practised in the Himalayas. Not a direct translation from the Pali original, but an interpolation bearing in mind the teachings received by the author from many Buddhist masters, it makes it accessible to the present day reader. It includes a full glossary of the main Buddhist terms and principles. |
